While I currently live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado (a southern suburb of Denver) and love the mountains, I grew up in Portland, Oregon and still miss the green of Oregon forests and, of course, the ocean! I love walking on the beach listening to the waves—no better way to contemplate, reflect on things, and get re-energized!
I graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Chemical Engineering and initially worked for Texaco in Port Arthur, Texas. Within a few years I found software development to be more varied, challenging, and rewarding than process engineering and shifted away from oil, gas, and chemicals into software programming and, eventually, software engineering management. I love what I do!
I have an awesome family—I’m married to an amazing woman, have 3 incredibly smart and accomplished daughters and a very lovable and extremely active year and a half old mini labradoodle named Cooper.
I’m a huge sports fan and actively root for the Green Bay Packers, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies, and my poor beleaguered Oregon State Beavers!
I love to travel and experience new cultures, places, and people—I am constantly amazed at what I can learn when I’m out of my comfort zone! So far I’ve had the privilege to visit 65 countries and 45 of our amazing US States—but so many places still to see!
I’m always on the lookout for a good online wine deal—usually for a Californian red blend but also for a Pinot Noir from the great Pacific Northwest!
I love to serve—I believe volunteering and giving back is so important and I look forward to an annual trip down to Juarez, Mexico to help build houses for very deserving and under-privileged families that basically have almost nothing.
